Will McMillan was born and raised just outside of Portland, Oregon, where he lives to this day. Exposed to the natural wonder, wild, and brutality of growing up poor, religious, and gay in the Pacific Northwest, he learned to inculcate these influences not only into his nature but into every word that he writes. To date, his essays have appeared in over three dozen literary journals, and he has been featured on NPR’s This American Life.
